Fire & Water - Cleanup & Restoration

Wow Black Water keep on rollin...

When this local business suffered a water loss from a sewage drain line, precautions had to be taken. Sewage water contains bacteria which means crews have to wear Tyvek suits, gloves and masks. According to the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) any time there is bacteria laced water that comes in contact with porous materials, said materials need to be discarded. So, sheetrock, baseboard, carpet pad and carpet had to be removed and discarded. We had to apply a heavy amount of biocide to all the affected areas and then dry down any non-porous materials. A small area of wet carpet and sheetrock turned in to quite a largejob by the time it was complete.
